New Features

• The new cinder::backup::swift::backup_swift_block_size parameter has been added.

• The following parameters have been added to the cinder::coordination class.

  • manage_backend_package

  • package_ensure

• The glance::cinder class now supports parameters to configure options for service-to-service communication between cinder and glance.

• The cinder::backend::gpfs defined resource type now supports the volume_driver parameter to use different volume drivers.

• The cinder::backend::gpfs defined resource type now supports the options for GPFSRemoteDriver .

• The following parameters have been added to the cinder::key_manager::barbican class.

  • insecure

  • cafile

  • certfile

  • keyfile

  • timeout

• The new cinder::key_manager::barbican::service_user::timeout parameter has been added.

• The cinder class now has two new parameters rabbit_use_queue_manager and rabbit_stream_fanout.

• The cinder::keystone::auth class now adds the service role by default. Set the roles parameter not to add the role.

Upgrade Notes

• The default value of glance::cinder::auth_type will be changed to password in the future release. Make sure the glance::cinder class parameters such as password is set properly.

• The cinder::nova::auth_section parameter has been removed.

• Puppet 7 is no longer supported. Use Puppet 8 instead.

• The cinder::rabbit_heartbeat_in_pthread parameter has been removed.

• Management of cinder v3 user by the cinder::keystone::auth class has been removed. Because of the removal, the following parameters of the auth class have been removed.

  • password_user_v3

  • email_user_v3

  • auth_name_v3

  • tenant_user_v3

  • roles_v3

  • system_scope_v3

  • system_roles_v3

  • configure_user_v3

  • configure_user_role_v3

• The cinder::logging::watch_log_file parameter has been removed.
